My children understand that children need food even when they are enjoying Easter. This is without prompting from me.

Feeding Starving Children: How Can You Contribute To Help Your Fellowman?

How many times do you usually eat daily? Good for you if you get to eat three times or more a day. Do you know that some of our less fortunate brothers and sisters in the world who are financially disable can only eat once a day or worst, none at all? Here is the truth that we can’t pass by. ALL have been called by God to help, but only a few have responded to the call. How about you? Will you respond if you hear His voice and see his face in the poor and hungry?

Personally, even though I am not well-gifted with material things, I have not been starved of food. Every time I see and hear of the hungry people, I feel very blessed. Moreover, I want to share my blessings with them even if it is in a very small way. It’s called feeding the poor and this is what I have purposed to do. Here are the steps I have taken and exactly what I intend to do to help them.

First, I try to put myself in their shoes and to imagine and feel the difficulties they are facing. Usually this makes me feel so very sad. I feel sad to know that they are living in a world of misery and on the brink of death. Next, I think of ways I can save my money to help these people. I have decided to use my personal money to buy meal packs that are sent through Americares.

Lastly, I sought for my friend’s help because I know that I cannot do this alone. But even my friend and I aren’t making a dent in the massive need. So I found a way to help that is truly revolutionary. See I believe being a part of a charity organization is not the only way to help them. Charity organizations like Americares have their part. However, sharing personally what you have is a very rewarding indeed, and it can inspire others to do the same. For me feeding the poor is not only limited to providing food but also providing intangible matters like kindness, love and spreading the word of God. To actually visit with these people is one of the greatest things that we can do to help fight world hunger. Because visiting them gives us a true vision of their suffering. When we have gone to encourage them to fight against the odds in their lives and share the love of God that is always present in the midst of everything, typically we end up being encouraged. Somehow we when we go to help them see that they are not alone, we begin to see this as well.

Feeding the poor doesn’t only mean giving food to people who are of low status in life, but also supplying them with the essential things they need to bring themselves up. We need to feed them in a way so that they will definitely improve their quality of living. We need to love them as much as God loves us. Man does not only live by bread alone but also by the word of God. This means we must share the Word of the Lord as well as give them food. We must tell them that they are not abandoned people but blessed people in this world and the best way we can do this is by showing them while we speak and sending food. I have done this through a unique program. Take a look at what thousands are doing with me to make a difference in the world hunger crisis.

The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. -Proverbs 1:17 KJV

The very first place we can start is with God.

In, Mat 7:24 Jesus said. “ Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock”

If you try to build on with some other foundation other than God you will be building on sand.

Why? Simply, assume for a minute there was no God. Who or what would you trust?
• A great leader? Hitler was considered a great leader.
• Money? The US owes trillions.
• Science? It changes from day to day.

These foundations are based on the finite, but if there is a God (and there is), then you have someone that is unchanging, eternal, and reliable to trust. Something solid to put your trust in.

The good news is you do not have to just take my word for it. We have God’s Word to trust. Think of this reasoning about it. If you you do not have God why trust your own thoughts.

Have you ever made a mistake, of course you have? And the reason you know you made the mistake is because there is something that you instinctively know is true. Something that you can trust and rely on.

Acts 17:28 “ For in him we live, and move, and have our being”

You Got to Trust Something

There is nothing better to trust than God and His Word. Important questions about life only make sense when you understand there is an eternal uncreated God at the forefront.

Purpose, existence, and our continuance are based on the eternal existence of our invisible Almighty Father.

Whether you acknowledge your trust in His Word or not His word remains certain, so you might as well choose to follow it.

Mat 24:35, Mark 13:31, Luke 21:33 – Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Put God’s word first.

1 Cor 3:11 – For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

1. There has to be a start.
2. God makes sense above our own ideas.
3. God’s Word should be what you choose to follow.
